the flow - technology
The idea of the "space of flows"in a modern world - "flows of people, capital, information, technology, images, sounds, and symbols."
"Flows are not just one element of social organization", which they all have to work together. I believe that technology has become the most important element in the society. Technology has become the main domination in our world lately.
"Technology is a product of human decisions and actions." Technology didn't exist naturally, human beings are the ones who created technologies. We redesign the world / space in order to give themselves changes and improve their lives.
"Redesigning the space of flows needs to be continuous, rather than episodic." Humans should put more emphasis on the functionality on an object rather than the appearance. This way, it helps people the understand the idea of what and why they are using. I think apple is a really successful example, they create all these modern like and functional gadgets, and which of course it attracts many customers to join into their world. They make different kind of products to help to people the follow the trend and also send messages to others that this is what the new world should be and will be.

What is mapping???

"maps intrigue us...These are maps that find their essence in some other goal than just taking us from point A to point B."
There is no "right" or "wrong" in map, you can also put imaginations in it. It only matters if you could tell your story or deliver the information to the people. Like, a three-year-old kid can do their own mapping, the drawings are mainly from her imagination, and yet it makes no sense to us because the ideas weren't come from the audiences. So, it is important to create a map from other's point of view instead of your own.

Use it twice or more. The Mezzanine.

"I washed my hands briefly...without turning off the water, I used paper towel to dry my hands." After reading the first paragraph, it reminds me of myself. I am a toilet paper, paper towel and tissue user. I think kitchen towel is easy to catch germs, which means I have to wash them frequently to make sure they're clean and fresh. In order to avoid changing towels twice a day, I decides to buy those disposable thick paper towel. It's much easier and each sheet last for a while. I think hygiene is important to me, I's rather wasting it but not reusing it. In public, even if they installed those warm air hand dryers, I still think paper towel works work better for me.
I understand that saving the environment has been the main issue during these years, but sometimes it's just to follow it. I do recycle water bottles and paper, when it comes to paper towel, I'll just grab some and wipe my wet hands. In the future or may be during my senior (well may be not, I am in furniture design), I'll try to solve this problem, to make it more environmentally and hygienics.

Obesity...

I thought the article was interesing when it said fat people influence their friends to become fat.
However, I disagree with what he/she was saying. Most of the fat people are bascally overeating. They cannot control themselves. This kind of illness is caused by people over-indulging and not exercising enough. In fact, I still think individuals should take responsibility to keep themselves heathly and non-obese, instead of blaming others. I believe that if you realised this and took responsibility for your own health can go a long way to ensuring that you are always healthy and sexy.
Fat kid on a ride... it's really funny and hilarious.
